Our clients fish a wide variety of water. Each with their own unique preference and needs when it comes to rod selection. So we offer three rod series to meet the demands of the most serious angler or collector.
We work hard to learn about how and where each client plans to use the rod before we begin building it. As a result, each rod is built one at a time to meet each client’s unique needs and preferences. Throughout the process we’re happy to answer questions and to update you on your rod’s progress.
Your rod’s birth is a long and arduous journey. We use only high-grade Chinese Tonkin (Arundinaria amabilis) bamboo procured from our trusted suppliers. The bamboo is selected and split into strips, rough beveled and heat treated to a uniform hardness and color. Strips are hand planed to the desired taper and glued together with an appropriate node pattern.
The blank is then fitted with high-grade hand turned Portuguese cork handles. Depending on the specific rod series, snake guides, tip top, stripper, winding check, reel seat and hardware are built in our shop and added. Finally, wraps are applied and only the highest grade marine spar varnish is used to form a tough, yet mirror like final finish. Each rod a true work of functional art!
