We want the time-honored bamboo rod building legacy to be passed on to others who share our passion. It’s in this spirit that we offer you an opportunity to build a custom bamboo fly rod with master rod builder Gary Lacey and staff guiding your every move! It will become your most cherished “fish stick” – and sure to be a family heirloom.
Classes are limited to four students. No experience is required and all materials and tools are included. Students work hand-in-hand with the L&J staff at their own work bench outfitted with the same tools we use to create each L&J bamboo rod. In just two weekends, you’ll build a custom rod that could easily cost $1,600 - $2,000 from a quality builder. And, on the last day you'll have the option of testing your new rod on one of our North Georgia trout streams. You leave with a rod ready to fish!
Tuition: $1,350 - 1/2 due at registration and 1/2 upon arrival
Included:
- All instruction, tools and raw materials
- Choice of rod length, line wt., taper and hardware
- Choice of wrap colors and patterns and cane tone
- Rod bag and tube
- Lunch and snacks each day
